Welcome to Lincoln City and the beautiful central Oregon Coast! We are a resort community located on the 45th parallel, bordered by the coast range to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. We are 2 hours from Portland, an hour from Salem and just an hour from the Willamette Valley- Oregon’s wine country. Lincoln City offers 7 ½ miles of pristine beaches, a fresh water lake, three rivers and a large bay at the mouth of the Siletz. There are six distinct “villages” that stretch along the scenic highway 101, each offering it’s own unique flavor and recreational activities. The Salmonberry Inn & Beach House is located in the historic bay area of Taft on the southern end of town, where the Siletz River meets the Pacific Ocean.
The historic Taft district is a small walking village that boasts a range of bars and restaurants; from coffee shops to ice cream parlors, from seafood joints to fine dining and everything in between. Explore your creativity at the glass blowing studio, toss some crab nets at the beach and see what you can catch or simply hop on one of our classic beach cruiser bicycles and take a tour. Whatever you decide, it’s only steps from our door.
Lincoln City has crisp, clean salty air that is host to many kite festivals a year and is recognized as the “Kite Capitol of the World.” We have one of the few outlet malls in Oregon, Tanger Outlets, which features many popular brands. On the north end of town, there’s an extensive casino resort with top name entertainment. We have a plethora of outdoor activities: hiking, fishing, whale watching, kayaking and bird watching.
Lincoln City offers some of the best beachcombing and tide pool exploration of any coastal area. With that comes an interesting climate. A typical summer will bring a windy 60°-70° on the beach, yet the average winter temperature hovers around 50° with lots of rain and rarely any snow. The ocean temperature of the Pacific in this area is relatively brisk year round and sunbathing is usually reserved for our warmest days. The benefit of this mild, often wet climate is a gorgeous lush landscape, long stretches of uncrowded beaches and the freshest air in the World.
The Salmonberry Inn & Beach House is snuggled between a protective hillside and a small wetland area, just across from the Mo’s beach in the south end of Lincoln City. Our location is the warmest in town in the summer because we’re blocked from the strong northwest winds. In the winter, the wind shifts to the southwest and we become a front row seat for watching storms. Whatever the weather, Salmonberry provides the perfect stage for your unforgettable getaway to unfold.
